The babies are growing... each of the girls are just over a pound. Yep, for those that are keeping track, we are having two daughters.
Our next appointment is Jan. 5th. We have an ultra sound appointment and then a obgyn appointment. After this appointment, I will be going every two weeks... wow... time is going to fly.

C-Section scheduled
Today we had our monthly visit to the doctor. All went well. I am measuring at 27 weeks (for a singleton) but I am just 21 weeks. We scheduled our C-section date for March 19th. However, the doctor doesn't think I will make it that far. He already has given me a doctor's note for work. My last day of work will be Feb. 28th unless (God forbid) something comes up. Next ultra sound is Dec. 2nd. Next doctor's visit is Dec. 15th.

Level 4 Ultra Sound

Today we got a good look at the babies.
Baby A has the hand over the eye.
Baby B has the foot up in the ear.
Baby A is head down and Baby B is breech.
Everything looks good. We go in again in 4 weeks for another ultra sound.
We go and see my doctor to discuss the results of the ultra sound on the 17th of November.

Movement
I can honestly say, today has been a crazy day of movement. They are mostly ticklish flutters that I am feeling. (I am at 19 weeks -- with Christopher, I was closer to 21 weeks.) I am feeling them more on the right, than on the left. I am interested to see on the ultrasound where they actually are hanging out. Cool pictures to come next week.

All is well
After flying back from NC we had a doctor's appointment. All went well. We heard each of the heartbeats. The one on my right was quicker than the one on my left. Only time will tell.
We will be having a Level 2 Ultra Sound on Nov. 11th and then another doctor's appointment on the 17th. Starting in December, I will be going every three weeks.

Exciting, Relieving, Awesome

I went into our appointment today with some apprehension... just motherly worry I guess.
It all turned out well. The doctor found the heartbeat, but b/c they are so little, it is hard to determine which is which. So, lucky for me, we had an ultra sound today.
The second trimester began 9/17/2008. According to a website the doctor recommended, under the category of "Approximate Stages of Embryo/Fetal Development" that I should begin to feel fetal movement around October 1st. (What a birthday present that will be!)
The upper baby seemed to be a little more photogenic than the lower baby-- maybe because the upper is on top of him or her. On the technicians screen, you could see each of the vertebrae. It was really neat to see them moving! 4 legs and 4 arms!
I am 12 weeks 5 days pregnant, but the babies are measuring at 13 weeks 3 Days and 13 weeks 1 day. So they are growing ahead of schedule. : )

Feeling better
I hope I am not jinxing myself, but it has been since 9/9 since I have thrown up. Hopefully we are making a turn for the better. We are now at 11 weeks. As of Sept. 17th, we will have completed the 1st trimester.

Rough Weekend
This weekend Joe and Christopher headed to the lake house without me so that I could get caught up with housework and school work. (Also, I don't like throwing up in other people's toilet's--- I rather stay at home.) Unfortunately, neither got done. I spent the majority of the days in bed, on the couch, or at the porcelain bowl. I can't believe the difference in pregnancies. I think I threw up once with Christopher. (I know--- there are two in there! More hormones.) I have been experiencing a pain on my left side-- I don't think the babies are in danger, but I don't like having the constant pain. I called the doctor and he wants me to come see him tomorrow. He told me I could take extra- strength Tylenol... I hate the idea of taking medicine while pregnant, but the doc says it is ok. So, I am gearing up to take some Tylenol and hopefully I can keep it down.

Nothing to report
Today's appointment was uneventful. We did not get an ultra sound today. I don't think we will be getting one for two months. (We have been spoiled the last few visits.)

Growing
Had a doctor's appointment today. All is well.
The babies have each grown past 10 mm. I can't believe they grew that much in a week.
I haven't scanned the new pics in yet! Maybe next week.

Morning Sickness- how about ALL DAY sickness
I hate to be a complainer, but my bouts with gallbladder issues and the pancreatic attack are nothing compared to this morning sickness. I was blessed with Christopher's pregnancy-- this is horrible. It could be so bad because I have twins- double the hormones or it could be that there is at least one little girl in there. (some websites indicate that a girl will through off your hormones and give you bad morning sickness or all day sickness. Regardless, I can't wait till 14 weeks... supposedly it will end then.

Seeing is believing!

Today Joe and I saw the two heartbeats. The babies are smaller than 3 mm each and we can see their heartbeats. Technology is really amazing. Both babies are measuring at 5 weeks 6 days-- I am technically 6 weeks 1 day. Baby "1" is 2.5mm and baby "2" is 2.8mm. So far so good. Next appointment 8/13/2008.

Aug. 1 2008
Today was Lizzie's birthday party. Prior to the party, we informed Grandma and Grandpa (Karen and Joe) that they will grandparents to twins. They were ecstatic-- they were sad that they had to go back into the party and not be able to tell anyone. We are trying to wait until we see the heartbeats.

Now boarding
Yesterday we told Joe's parents our good news. Joan was going to be booking our flights for our June 2009 vacation and we wanted to be sure that they would fly out with us so we had the extra help. Frank and Joan were so excited-- Joan seemed a little more nervous for us. It will be a hard secret for them to keep. We are trying to wait until after the 1st trimester.
Joan called me this AM and told me she didn't sleep at all last night-- I told her it was the first night I did sleep through the night. I was glad someone could take the burden of worry off me for one night.

Sleepless nights already!
I don't know how we/I am going to make it through this pregnancy. I can't sleep at night. So many thoughts are going through my head. I have so many worries (too many to mention) and concerns. I just hope and pray for a healthy pregnancy with healthy babies.

Seeing double

July 28th
Over the weekend, I had been having some sharp pain in my left side. It really only bothered me when I stood up too quickly or rolled over. Sunday night it seemed a little worse and then Monday my motherly instincts told me to call the doctor. They wanted me to come in right away.
I was having thoughts of a tubal pregnancy-- Joe was out of town and my neighbors who typically watch Christopher last minute for me were both on vacation-- Christopher had to come with me. Let me tell you... it was quite a site in the doctor's office-- me on the table, Christopher on my belly tearing apart the paper thin sheet covering me.
I really wanted Joe there with me b/c it was the first time we would be having an ultra sound-- we had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday.
The doctor started by saying that he has seen a tubal pregnancy with one gestational sac but never has he seen two gestational sacs and a tubal pregnancy--- it took me a minute to process that comment and then I saw the two sacs on the screen. I couldn't believe it.
The pain was being caused by a cyst on my left ovary-- it will dissolve itself.
I must say, I really didn't show much emotion over the fact that we were having twins, I think I was more thrilled that nothing was wrong.
Now for the worrying to begin...
